The DAWES Project can provide support employers across the country to assist them to develop a workplace domestic abuse policy, and good practice throughout the organisation when a member of staff has experienced domestic abuse.

Employers across the UK can access these services:

  • The DAWES good practice guide which contains template work place polices and information on good practice
  • Advice, information and consultancy services about developing a domestic abuse policy for staff and promoting good practice in the workplace
  • Tailored training on any aspect of domestic abuse as a workplace issue
  • Assistance in supporting a staff member who has experienced domestic abuse.

*please note that previously employers within Greater Manchester had access to free services, however this funding stream has now ended so all employer services will be charged at reasonable rates.

Union branches across the country can access presentations and training on domestic as a workplace issue which can be tailored to specific needs, for example:

  • A short briefing at a team meeting
  • A half day training session on developing a workplace domestic abuse agreement
  • A half day training session on how domestic abuse effects the workplace
  • A full training day to include general domestic abuse awareness and how it impacts on the workplace.

Packages will be designed and costed on an individual basis.
